I am a big fan of the game Assassin’s creed. So, travelling to Galata tower was a must do thing for me.
The entry fee was around 20 TL, which is a bit expensive. But, the entry fee of all other attractions, and museums in Istanbul are high as well. This attraction doesn’t fall under the Museum card I bought, so had to buy the ticket separately.
To get there, ride on the T1 Bağcılar- Kabataş tram, and get down at Karaköy station. you can see the Galata Tower from there.
I am glad that there is a lift inside the tower, so I didn’t have to use stairs to get on top. They sell costumes on 7th floor for you to cos-play. Try it if you want, but I had my own assassin cos-play robe, so didn’t have to buy those. On top floor, there is a restaurant. You can go to the 360 balcony, and take a 360 degree view. Take as long time as you want, because you are paying 20 TL for it. I managed to take a cos-play photo of me in Assassin’s robe, thanks to another solo traveler from USA.
Overall, a very good view from top, and I highly recommend going on top of this tower if you are planning to travel to Istanbul.
