Ok, so Probolingo is the base or starting point of your trip to Mount bromo, and everybody goes to Probolingo from Surabaya airport. But, I bought a ticket to Malang airport instead. And I was thinking how could I go to Probolingo from there. Didn’t find any online review about this at all, so I am writing this to help people like me who plans to travel to Mount Bromo from Malang airport. Ok, so I got to Malang airport from Bali by Lion Air (wings air code share)
Inside the airport, there was a taxi service. I asked them that I need to go to probolingo. They said that I have to go to Arjosari bus station first. From there I can go to Probolingo. So they gave me a taxi ticket worth 60,000 Rupiah. The taxi driver took me straight to Arjosari bus station. The bus station was quite big. I went to the information center, told me where I needed to go, and they took me directly to the bus that goes to Probolingo:
I had snacks, and boarded the bus. Thought the bus was did not have AC in it, it was quite comfortable. The price to Probolingo was only 14,000 Rupiah. Can you believe it? At some point the bus stopped, and all the passangers, including me got on to a different bus. Not sure it happens regularly. In the bus, you can enjoy Karaoke, guitar plays, etc performed by local people. I was checking google maps. And when I saw that were close to probolingo, I asked them that I need to go to Mount Bromo. They said they would me to the tourist information center. So, this is where they dropped me:
I found many other people were also going to stay near Mount Bromo, and planning to see the sunrise view. I booked the option to take the sunrise view package + drop off to Surabaya airport. The price was 500,000 Rupiah, which seemed pretty decent. In the evening I started for Hotel Yoschi, where I stayed overnight before going to catch the sunrise view of Mount Bromo…
